Things I Would’ve Posted on Twitter

So, at both the request of my wife, and advice of my therapist, I’ve taken an extended leave of absence from Twitter (and, more generally, social media and reading the news). Honestly, I don’t feel like I’m missing all that much. What I do miss, however, is a place to dump all my pithier thoughts. I remembered, hey, I have a blog!

So, enjoy and/or apologies:

-Just once I’d like to see a Nutcracker adaptation brave enough to show a woman in a Prussian military uniform and her wife among the guests of the Christmas party in Act I.

-It’s weird that tech-bros get all upset about gray goo and rogue AI. There’s already an invention that’s no longer under human control and is rapidly devouring every resource on the planet and causing widespread devastation. It’s called ‘capitalism.’

-At what point, as a species, should we start considering creating thuktunthp for the bonobos or cockroaches or whoever comes after us?

-I’ve lost so much faith in humanity in the last few years–and as someone who previously was very much optimist, I still haven’t figured out how to process that yet.

-If the powers that be aren’t going to actually make a just and hospitable society, the least they can do is start dumping anti-anxiety meds into the water supply. I think that’d got a long way towards improving the political climate in this country
